Welcome to The Salvation Army's Homeless to Work (H2W) program, where we're not just breaking the cycle of homelessness, we're beautifying our cities in the process!

Overview

Our 90-day H2W program empowers homeless individuals by providing them with employment opportunities. Through tasks like planting flowers, tree maintenance, graffiti removal, and litter abatement, our participants contribute to the beautification of their communities while earning a living. As Joseph Collins, a former participant, puts it, "The point of it all is they are putting money in our pockets."

Since 2017, we've been making a difference in Moreno Valley and Riverside by collaborating with local government officials, businesses, and residents. Our aim is to offer comprehensive support, including job placement and essential services, to help our neighbors secure stable housing and break the cycle of homelessness.

Individualized Solutions

At TSA, we understand that each person's journey is unique. That's why our program is tailored to meet the specific needs of every participant. From transportation assistance to personalized case management, we ensure that no barrier stands in the way of success.

Our dedicated case managers work closely with clients to identify their goals and provide necessary resources, whether it's job training, medical care, or even a new pair of shoes. Accountability is key, with regular check-ins to track progress and ensure that participants stay on the path to success.

H2W Stages

Our program follows four stages, guiding individuals towards a safe, healthy, and independent life. From initial outreach to job placement and beyond, we're committed to providing comprehensive support every step of the way.

  1. Initial Contact: Our Homeless Outreach Coordinators serve as the first point of contact, addressing the needs of homeless individuals and engaging with the community to address homelessness concerns.

  2. Program Entry: We provide skills-related assistance to individuals at risk of homelessness, helping them navigate employment opportunities and stabilize their living situations.

  3. Life Skills Classes and Work Program: Participants receive life skills classes and case management, covering everything from job interview preparation to substance abuse recovery if needed.

  4. 90 Days Program Accomplishment: By completing the program, participants gain valuable employment experience and access ongoing support to secure long-term stability.
